Abstract

Diplomsko delo se posveča tematiki Maistrove prevratne dobe 1918/1919, natančneje dogodkom v novembru in decembru v Mariboru in njegovi okolici, in sicer v luči treh takrat v Mariboru izhajajočih časnikov.

Secondary title: Maisters Overthrow age (1.Nov. 1918 - 31.Dec.1918) in Maribor and its surrounding in the light of newspapers Marburger Zeitung, Slovenski gospodar and Straža
Secondary abstract: This diploma paper deals mainly with the subversive period of Rudolf Maister (1918/1919), specifically the events that occurred in November and December in Maribor and its outskirts and how those events were presented by the three newspapers of that era: the pro-German Marburger Zeitung on one side and the Slovene public-oriented Slovenski gospodar and Straža on the other side. Slovenia was trying to fulfill its former wishes and goals, first as the State of SHS (Slovenes, Croats and Serbs) and later as the Kingdom of SHS (Serbs, Croats and Slovenes) - to get rid of the German yoke and become independent. The decay of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy enabled Slovenes to form a separate country, which was later known as the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. The newly formed Republic of German-Austria that had the same territory as the Monarchy did not want to lose all of its regions. The question about Maribor and its suburbs created a great sensation because it was unsure to which country the city belonged at that time, thus making it one of the most significant questions about the northern border, where Rudolf Maister Vojanov played an important role. The main goal of this diploma paper is the analysis of presenting facts in the three main newspapers of the subversive period and the assessment of the biased problem in all areas - from politics and culture to food related questions.
