Secondary title: | PROTECTION OF PREGNANT WORKERS AND WORKERS WHO HAVE RECENTLY GIVEN BIRTH TO THE CHILD OR ARE BRESTFEEDING IN A EU CASE -LAW PERSPECTIVE |
Secondary abstract: | Coordinating work and family life is a big challenge for working women in today's world. In many families both parents must work. The aim of labor law is to provide special protection to all working mothers. The law should protect them when they want to interrupt their career due to motherhood. Many women are afraid to choose motherhood because they might get fired by their employer. They are torn between motherhood and their career. My diploma thesis deals with the legal resources that protect this category of employees. Both national legal sources of employment (from a socio-legal perspective) as well as international sources of law relevant to the creation of Slovenian legislation are presented here. The laws adopted in recent years are very important for working mothers. They promote the equality of women and their participation in the labor market. This diploma thesis focuses on the protection of working mothers in the light of the recent case law of the EU Court. The EU Court appeals that deal with current issues in this field are presented in my diploma thesis. |
