Abstract

Analizirali smo spremenljivke spol, starost, izobrazba, dohodek, motivacijska naravnanost, inovacijska naravnanost in nagnjenost k rasti.

Secondary title: Gender differences in entrepreneurial activity in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: The entrepreneurship is understood as the process of creating something new, worthy. The entrepreneurs should put into that their time and effort, and also take the risk. The enterpreneurship was always very important for the economic development and employment, therefore it's very important to know as much as possible about entrepreneurship. For that purpose in Slovenia is taking place GEM research about entrepreneurship, implemented by Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Managment, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor. In the last four years the entrepreneurial activity in Slovenia was constantly increasing. Early entrepreneurial activity in the year 2008 was 6,4 % of adult population. After evaluation of GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) researchers there were 159.000 entrepreneurial active individuals with regard to the number of adult population. Women and men are entreprenurially active, but there are less women. A lot of them encounter with barriers, which prevent them to enter into entrepreneurship. The most frequently barriers: women are too busy, they are not being supported by their family, there is a conflict between work and family, woman can cook, clean, take care of husband, home and children, there are financial barriers and unflexibilty of educational institutions. Characteristics of male and female entrepreneurs are in general quite similar, but female entrepreneurs are different from male entrepreneurs with regard to motivation, business experience, personal characteristics, professional skills. Also the sources to establish an enterprise and the branch in which they found it, are different. In my graduate seminar was made analysis of the data, which were obtained in the research GEM 2008. With that analysis we tried to determine whether there are diffrences between men and women integration into entrepreneurship in Slovenia. Following variables were analysed: gender, age, education, income, motivation stand, inovation stand and growth interest.
