Abstract

Živimo v času, ko so spremembe edina stalnica. Skratka, strategija opredeljuje, kje smo, kam gremo in kako bomo do tja prišli. Zato naj management praviloma planira, in to čim bolj vseobsežno in dolgoročno, bodisi na formaliziran ali neformaliziran način. Dokumentiranje načrtov politike ima pomembne prednosti — saj preprečuje nesporazume in izgubljanje planov, usklajuje delovanje managerjev ter olajšuje širše osvajanje ciljev in strategij v podjetju.

Secondary title: Importance of planning basic strategy for business development success
Secondary abstract: We live in a time of constant changes. The environment of organizations is changing constantly and is getting more and more complex. It consists of political, economical, social and technological variables. The companies have no influence on most of them. The outside environment gives the company opportunities as well as threatens with dangers. The task of the management is to identify both. In order to survive or expand they have to continuously adapt to changes and in accordance with their internal advantages search for the best development possibilities. The main task of a manager is to identify changes in the environment early enough and to define appropriate actions. The promptness of reacting to changes in the outside environment is conditional upon the flexibility of the method of management and represents a significant advantage in the given situation. The goal of this master’s thesis was to determine the meaning of basic strategy planning for the company’s development performance. We began by mentioning some theoretical starting points by various authors which we later used in a practical example of a particular company. Strategy refers to a plan, which enables the organization to bring the current situation forward to the future situation it strives for. A strategy makes it possible for a company to reach an efficient position in its environment, as well as its greatest potential and at the same time the continual monitoring of possible changes, which can have an efficient influence on changes in the strategic plan. A strategy therefore defines the position we are in at the moment, where we are heading to and how we are going to get there. Therefore the management should generally plan, the more integral and long-term planning the better, either in a formalized or a non-formalized way. The documenting of policy plans has significant advantages – it prevents misunderstandings and the losing of plans, it coordinates the functioning of managers and facilitates a broader achievement of goals and strategies in a company.
