spolne zlorabe otrok

Abstract

Secondary title: DARK SIDE OF INTERNET - SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN
Secondary abstract: Sexual abuse is an urgent problem of the modern society. Te general public is not aware of this sensitive topic. In spite of that the problem of sexual abuse is getting more and more known to the general public. The number of police reports is increasing, the victims are more aware about the procedures of reporting an offender. In the last years the silence has been broken and the general public has been shocked by the knowledge that the most dangerous for children are not abnormal perverts, but imperceptible completely normal people. The offenders are committing these crimes above all because of a need of demonstrating their power and predominance; sexual needs are only the second reason. The abused children often show obvious signs of sexual abuse. It is extremely important that parents or relatives recognize these signs and help them. When the child begins to talk about sexual abuse, we should believe him and take time to talk to him. In the time, when the internet technology is in bloom, these kinds of criminal offences have increased. The offenders make contact with innocent children from the safe shelter of their home using different kinds of internet communication. With the development of the internet those who crave for child pornography have a chance to link up easily, quickly and secretly. Internet is problematic also because it is the easiest way for children to see pornography that is generally designed for adults. The police and other non-governmental organizations are intensively fighting against this kind of criminal offences, but it often seems that because of wide diversification of the internet the fight is in vain. Greater awareness of safer use of the internet of parents and their children would essentially reduce the consequences in case of sexual abuse of a child.
