Abstract

Namen diplomske naloge je bil raziskati vpliv barvil in različnih materialov, obdelanih po impregnacijskem pad-steam postopku barvanja (folija metoda) na UV prepustnost. Barvanje sem izvedla z reduktivnimi in disperznimi barvili, v treh različnih koncentracijah.

Secondary title: The impact of dyestuffs and material on uv radiation
Secondary abstract: The purpose of diploma work was to investigate the impact of colors and different materials, which were treated with impregnation pad-steam dyeing process (foil method) on the UV transmittance. Dyeing was carried out using vat and disperse dyes at three different concentrations. All obtained samples were measured UV transmittance using spectrophotometer following two standards, and compared the impact of color depth (K/S) on the level of UV protection. It was found that the color depth has big impact on the measured (UPF) protect against UV rays, but even higher impact was observed using different type of fabrics structure. Measuring the value UPF it was found that cotton woven fabric, both in heavier as lighter version in the white color does not reach sufficient protective properties. Sufficient enough protection was achieved with the dyed heavier fabric at a concentration of 5 g/L, while achieving good protection with the lighter fabric concentration of 10 g/L was needed. In the case of woven mixtures fabric of cotton/PES, a heavier fabric had excellent UPF value. With the dyeing process those values were improved, but not significantly. Insufficient UPF was gain using lighter version woven mixtures fabric of cotton/polyester dyed at 10 g/L, which again shows the strong influence of the fabric structure.
