Abstract

Glasba je poleg jezika, književnosti, umetnosti pomemben medij za oblikovanje kulturne identitete. V Sloveniji nosi del te vloge narodno-zabavna glasba, ki se neguje in razvija s pomočjo množičnih medijev. Na tem mestu pa največjo odgovornost prevzame javna televizija, ki mora skrbeti za zadovoljitev potreb različnih javnosti s kakovostnim lastnim programom. V diplomskem delu definiramo funkcije in delovanje slovenske javne televizije ter se posvečamo spoznavanju slovenske nacionalne identitete preko fenomena narodno-zabavne glasbe. S pomočjo analize statističnih podatkov o gledanosti narodno-zabavnih vsebin smo ugotavljali, da je ta zvrst glasbe na TV Slovenija dovolj razširjena, vendar manjkajo kakovostni kriteriji, tako imenovano sito, ki loči zrno od plevela.

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂimportance of national folk music in public television programmes
Secondary abstract: Beside language, literature and art is music an important medium for formation of cultural identity. Folk music has its part in Slovenia and this part nurtures and develops through the mass media. Public television has the biggest responsibility, as it has to take care to meet the needs of different publicity with own quality programme. In this thesis we define the function and operation of the national Slovenian television and is dedicated to learn about Slovenian national identity through the phenomenon of folk music. With help of statistical data analysis on national-viewing entertainment, we observed that this type of music on TV Slovenia is fairly widespread, but there are no qualitative criteria, the so-called sieve, to separate the grain from the weeds.
