Abstract

Entrepreneurial activity and the position of women while entering entrepreneurship |
Secondary abstract: |
Entrepreneurship is a process which is associated with the establishment of the new company. Each individual must decide about establishing his own company or to deal with anything else. Man and women are involved in entrepreneurship, but there are differences between them. Female entrepreneurs differ from male entrepreneurs in educational attainment, age at the launching of business, psychological characteristics, motivational factors, support networks and activities. Global study GEM, in which Slovenia has been participating for nine years studies the relationship between entrepreneurial activity and national economic growth.
Experts warn that women are less pronounced in entrepreneurship than men, so we tried to find out where the reasons for this are and what the support is. We found that the variables that are important in deciding for an entrepreneurial career are less favorable for women than for men. Women are more afraid of failure and are not confident that they would succeed. Percentage of women who engage in entrepreneurship is extremely low in the countries of the Arab world, where there are convinced due to cultural values that they should be at home and take care of home and family. Women need different incentives than men, so there are different ways to encourage more women to be involved in entrepreneurship. These are different types of family members support, networks, role models and various programs to promote women's entrepreneurship. |
