diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študijskega programa
Abstract
Zanesljivost delovanja in visoka razpoložljivost podatkovnih omrežij je v današnjem času eden ključnih faktorjev za uspešno poslovanje podjetij.
V tem diplomskem delu se bomo osredotočili na omrežja obročne strukture, ki jih največkrat uporabljajo podjetja, ter mehanizem EAPS, ki je rešitev podjetja Extreme Networks. Protokol EAPS skrbi za brezhibno delovanje omrežja obročne strukture, v primeru okvare katerega od segmentov omrežja pa poišče alternativno pot ter ves podatkovni promet preusmeri po njej.
Postavili smo testno omrežje, kjer smo najprej vsa stikala nastavili, potem pa smo podrobno opisali delovanje protokola.
Izvedli smo tudi vrsto testov, pri katerih nas je najbolj zanimal čas, v katerem se omrežje po napaki vrne v normalno delujoče stanje.

Ring network structure with EAPS protocol |
Secondary abstract: |
Reliability and high availability of data networks represents one of the key factors that enable successful business. In my thesis we will focus on ring structured networks, which are primarily used by companies and the EAPS protocol developed by Extreme Networks. EAPS protocol helps to ensure flawless operation of ethernet rings. In the case of a malfunction in a segment of the network, EAPS protocol finds an alternative route and reroutes all of the traffic data.
We have set up a test network, we started with setting all the switches and then continued with describing the functions and workings of the protocol in detail. We have also carried out a number of tests, where we took a great amount of interest in the time, in which it took the network to return back to normal working state. |
