Secondary abstract:	Focus of the thesis is on ubiquitous computing systems and how they are developing and changing for the purposes of tourism. The tourist industry is a great opportunity to use mobile services, as tourists expect new opportunities and services that can deliver the necessary information through mobile devices. We reviewed the existing services for assisting tourists on mobile platforms and the strengths and weaknesses of the existing applications. In the practical example we have shown a prototype application, the structure and development on the Android platform.
