Abstract

V zadnjih letih se vedno bolj pojavlja rek: »Če nisi na socialnih medijih, ne obstajaš.« Kaj socialni mediji sploh so? Koliko smo na njih prisotni Slovenci? Koliko, če sploh, se na njih pojavlja institucija, ki pooseblja najvišjo raven kulture na Slovenskem, Opera Maribor?Ali je sploh pomembno za njen ugled, obisk predstav, da se na socialnih medijih pojavlja? Odgovori na ta vprašanja so predmet te diplomske naloge. Prvi del povzema zgodovino razvoja interneta ter socialnih medijev, jih definira in klasificira. Nadaljevanje naloge pa predstavlja konkretno stanje prisotnosti Opere Maribor na najpopularnejših socialnih medijih v Sloveniji, ter preko raziskave ugotavlja njene priložnosti.

Secondary title: Social media in Slovenia, the case of Opera Maribor
Secondary abstract: In recent years the saying: “If you are not a part of social media network, you do not exist.” appears ever more often. What is social media? How much are Slovenians a part of it? How much, if at all, Opera Maribor, a representative of the highest cultural level in Slovenia, present in social media? Is it at all necessary for it to be in social media – for its reputation, attendance of productions? The answers to those questions are the main subject of this thesis. The first part is about the development of the internet and social media history. It defines and classifies social media. Furthermore the concrete state and presence of Opera Maribor on the most popular social media in Slovenia is represented, and through a research, it finds the establishment’s opportunities.
