Abstract
Ljudje so premalo ozaveščeni glede pomena lastnega jezika.

Language dying, linguistic and philosophical views |
Secondary abstract: |
Extinction of a language is a gradual process which affects various members or sections of the community differently. This is also one of the reasons why the community does not comprehend its language is in danger. People are not exactly aware of the importance of their own language. On the other hand, certain languages that are in struggle for their survival, have the advantage over other languages because of economic benefits. A need to learn a dominate language turns up out of a desire for better employment. It is important to take over the initiative to begin with the conservation and protection of linguistic diversity. When languages are dying out, this is not only a huge loss for its community but for humanity in general as well. Linguists should in addition to record and document the endangered languages expand their role onto the policy for enlivenment the languages which are dying out as well as the programs that promote the awareness and love of the languages. It is necessary to define the basic terms for use in discussions that means professional and bureaucratic texts in connection to the linguistic threat. Slovene is in no need to fear for its existence, since the proportion of speakers of the dominant native language among the EU members is considered as a fairly homogenous country. Although its use is determined by legal rules there are still violations which are not immediately and appropriately sanctioned. |
