Abstract

Problem pretiranega osvetljevanja je v veliki porabi električne energije, kar posledično pomeni višje stroške plačila električne energije in več izpustov toplogrednih plinov, kar prispeva h globalnim klimatskim spremembam. Najpomembnejši rešitvi problema svetlobnega onesnaženja sta namestitev ekoloških ali zasenčenih svetilk in ozaveščanje ljudi.

Secondary title: Light pollution in the valley Zgornja Savinjska dolina
Secondary abstract: In the graduation thesis the issue of light pollution is presented. The issue is present in the whole world and Slovenia is not an exception. Light pollution is caused by the loss of artificial light from artificial sources, which causes environmental degradation, endangers human health and causes changes in the natural behaviour of the nocturnal animals. Due to the decreasing night-sky quality, astronomers were the first emphasizing the issue. Many people are still convinced that more artificial light means progress and development, but they are not aware of the negative consequences caused by the artificial light. The issue of the increased illumination also causes increased consumption of the electric energy. Subsequently, that causes higher costs of electric energy and increased emissions of greenhouse gases and all that contributes to the global climate changes. The most important solutions to the issue are the usage of ecological or shaded lamps and raising awareness of the people about the problem.
