Abstract

Secondary title: Determination of silver in the cellulose material and its transfer into physiological environment
Secondary abstract: Silver is known as a powerful natural antibiotic. As an active antibacterial component it is well established in the field of medical dressing manufacture for wound care. The purpose of this diploma work was to bind silver on a cellulose matrix (viscose non-woven) and monitor its release in the physiological environment. Using a physiological medium and an appropriate membrane we simulated the wound and the processes inside it. We used a modified Franz diffusion cell as an in vitro system for silver release from the viscose non-woven. The method of atomic absorption spectroscopy was used to determine the concentration of released silver. Since the same amount of silver was released from samples with different initial concentrations, we can conclude that blocking of the membrane in Franz diffusion cell occurred during the release study.
