Abstract

Secondary title: Re-use of treated wastewater in the dyeing process
Secondary abstract: In the thesis, we attempted to determine if the wastewater from the textile factory Svilanit is suitable for reuse in the process of dying after being treated with the AOP process. The experimental work was divided into two parts. In the first part, we focused on the study of the effectiveness of decoloration of six-colored industrial wastewaters by UV/H2O2 advanced oxidation process. In the second part we examined the possibility of re-using the treated water in the dyeing process. The quality of colored textile material was studied by colorimetry. We found that absorbance and TOC reduction by the UV/H2O2 process led to very good results in less concentrated wastewaters with low initial absorbance and conductivity. In more concentrated wastewaters with high initial absorbance and conductivity, this method should be combined with another (eg MBR). In this way, the TOC can be reduced to the point where the water is suitable for re-use. We can conclude, that only some discharges of wastewater from the textile factory Svilanit treated with AOP, are suitable for re-use in the process of dyeing, others needed to be cleaned by another method or the cleaned wastewater can be used in the rinsing or washing steps.
