Abstract

PREPARATIONS OF THE TEACHERS AND PUPILS FOR THE NATIONAL KNOWLEDGE TESTING AT THE END OF THE SECOND EDUCATION PERIOD |
Secondary abstract: |
The national assessment of knowledge (hereinafter the NAK) is a written assessment of knowledge at the end of educational periods 2 and 3. The date, time and conditions are the same for all pupils. The purpose of the NAK is to acquire additional information or feedback on pupils' knowledge and teachers' effectiveness and quality of the learning and teaching processes. With help from my research I tried to find out how many pupils decide to participate in the NAK, considering the fact they are not obligatory; why they choose to participate, where do they prepare and how; I also wanted to see if the pupils are satisfied with teachers' preparation for the NAK. I wanted to find out what teachers think about preparing for the NAK, if they actually do it, and wheather there is a certain level of cooperation between teachers regarding this subject. With my research work I used a descriptive method of pedagogical research. The data was acquired with an anonymous questionnaire. The result was that the majority of pupils decide to participate in the NAK in order to get feedback about the level of their knowledge. The pupils said that the preparation for the NAK is fairly important. The majority of the pupils prepare for the NAK in the school and at home, mostly by doing exercises from old tests. The pupils are more or less satisfied with preparation for the NAK. Teachers believe that their preparation for the NAK is fairlx important. They motivate the pupils by saying that with results of the NAK they will get a feedback about their knowledge. They also believe that pupils work hard for the NAK. The teachers cooperate so that they prepare exercises for pupils together. The exercises are usually similar to the ones in the NAK. |
