Abstract

Secondary abstract: In the present thesis with the title Making Use of Workout Areas in the Kindergarten we wanted to determine what the level of satisfaction of children to play in the gym, on the playground, on the meadow and in the forest is. In the theoretical part of the thesis we presented and described in detail the characteristics of the child's integral development, focusing on the child's playing, and describing a variety of options of locomotor exercise/sports facilities in kindergartens. In the empirical part we presented and analyzed the results we had obtained by using a causal-non-experimental method of research. As a measuring instrument an interview was used, consisting of open-ended structured questions. The research pattern is non-coincidental from an actual population, consisting of 22 children aged 5 to 6 years from the kindergarten of Ivančna Gorica, unit Pikapolonica, with whom we carried out the interview every 14 days in the period of two months. We processed the data obtained quantitatively by using methods of descriptive statistics, with the help of frequency distribution, and we presented the data in the form of tables. We found that the satisfaction of children was different depending on different surfaces. The children presented their evaluations according to a pre-based scale with three answers (I liked it very much - score 1; I did not like it so much - score 2; I did not like it - score 3). The lowest average evaluations of the games on different training surfaces, which were given by the children, were attributed to the gym and not to the forest as we had previously thought. We also found that there are gender differences regarding satisfaction on different surfaces.
