diplomsko delo
Abstract

Car adaptations for disabled people |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: Active participation in road traffic means that persons with disabilities can experience a better quality of life, feel more socially included, and increase their chances of finding employment. Being able to drive also means they can pursue education and visit cultural, sporting and leisure events. Public transport in Slovenian towns and especially in the suburbs and elsewhere causes many difficulties for disabled persons, such as getting on and off the bus or accessing bus stops. To a disabled person, a car serves as a technical accessory that has the same purpose as any other accessory—to reduce their physical limitations. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to discuss various car adaptations and adjustments enabling people with different physical disabilities to independently drive the car and enter and exit it more easily. In addition, it presents the process of acquiring an adapted driver's license. Work methods: This thesis is based on a literature review using the descriptive research method, which involves reviewing the existing scientific literature in online and printed form. Results: This part of the thesis contains a review and description of the most common car adaptations that facilitate independent driving, adequate entry and exit from the car, and a safe position of the body while driving. Discussion and conclusion: Car adaptations and adjustments for people with disabilities bring many problems, such as high prices of electronic adaptations. In 2014, the Rules on technical aids and adaptation of vehicles came into force as part of the Equalisation of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act, which regulates co-financing of vehicle adaptation for persons with disabilities who can drive the vehicles themselves and for those who cannot. The adaptation is mandatory for safe entry and exit from the vehicle and also for safe driving. |
