Abstract

Najpogosteje prizadene ljudi srednjih let in starejše. Razprava in sklep: Totalna artroplastika kolka predstavlja uspešno in trajno rešitev pri zdravljenju obrabljenih sklepov, le-ta zmanjša predvsem bolečino in izboljša sklepno funkcijo.

Secondary title: Role of registered nurse at primary arthroplasty of a hip
Secondary abstract: Arthrosis is a degenerative joint disease, which is shown in the degeneration of the articular cartilage, which causes the narrowing of the joint splint. Most commonly it affects people in midlife age or elderly people. The pain causes difficult movement that worsens the quality of life. When the pain becomes impossible to bear with the help of conservative therapy, we can decide for the insertion of the total hip prosthesis. When dealing with an orthopedic patient, nurse has a significant role regarding the quality of the care after the surgery and contributes to the faster rehabilitation of the patient. Purpose: The aim of the dissertation is to present the role of the nurse when treating the orthopedic patients after the insertion of the primary hip endoprosthesis. Methods: In the dissertation we used the descriptive method of work with the overview of the Slovenian and foreign health care scientific literature. The literature was overviewed with the technique of critical reading from the field of anatomy and physiology of the hip, arthrosis, osteoarthrosis, insertion of the total hip arthroplasty and the health care of the orthopedic patient. Discussion and conclusion: The total hip arthroplasty presents an efficient and permanent solution after threating the deteriorated join; with the operation we reduce the pain and improve the joint function. The results show that in the recovery and rehabilitation of the patient a well-planned and professionally carried out health care, which is the modern method of work, implemented by the nurse, plays a significant role. After the joint replacement the registered nurse offers a wholesome care from the admission of the patient to his rehabilitation and his discharge from the orthopedic ward. The nurse also offers the patient a holistic, professional and ongoing health care, which provides them both with a good relationship, based on trust and better understanding of the patient’s needs, feelings, problems and beliefs.
