Abstract

Secondary title: The impact of the project ‘Healthy School’ on the knowledge and behaviour of primary school children in Ptuj
Secondary abstract: The Master's Thesis "The impact of the project "Healthy School" on the knowledge and behaviour of primary school children in Ptuj" consists of theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part is identified by the concept of health and its importance. It emphasizes the general maintenance of children's health and the possibility of the school's influence to live a healthy life for the whole family. The project Healthy school is presented in its detail, especially its aims, goals, Slovenian network and primary schools, which are included in it. The empirical part presents the results of empirical research obtained through questionnaires addressed to pupils who show that they already know a lot about health. They are aware that their school is involved in the project Healthy school and can identify its logo. Despite the knowledge about healthy lifestyle, they do not think about it as often as they should and they do not put any additional effort in it as well. They wash their teeth just twice a day and their hands just four to six times. They are not physically active, attend physicians and dentists irregularly and skip breakfast. As a result, the pupils surveyed believe that they take enough care of their hygiene, drink plenty of water, occasionally consume lettuce and do not eat a snack, called Smoki.
