magistrsko delo
Abstract
Magistrsko delo sestavljata teoretični in empirični del.

Some reasons for (the lack of) independance at young adults from the primary family |
Secondary abstract: |
The trend of a long term staying at the parent's place is in Europe a more and more present phenomenon. The crucial question there is which reasons have had an important influence on that present situation. The master's thesis consists of a theoretic and empiric part. In the theoretic part the term of young adults and their transition from youth to adulthood is identified. Further the meaning of family in the life of a young adult person and the long term of staying of the young at their parent's place was focused on. According to this there was considered how coherence, support and control by the parents has an effect to the life of a young adult person and how the parents deal with emotional gained independence. A special focus was put on the explanation of the effect of a rising uncertainty to young adults who are in the phase of transition to adulthood. Also the point of view of a longer time for education, unemployment and temporary employments and relationships at young adults were highlighted. The empiric part represents a research which results and its analyses are based on the finding of some reasons for the (lack of) independence of young adults from the primary family. The pattern includes Slovenian young adults at the age from 19-35. The data collected by a questionnaire were processed with the help of the programme SPSS. It was found out that most of the interviewed young adults live in their parent's property in a shared household and only a few live on their own in their property. The interviewees who live in a shared household with their parents evaluate living at home as financially lucrative. They answered that their monthly income from work is low and consequently they live at their parent's place because they cannot afford their own property due to the financial situation. The results confirmed that a temporary employment and relationships, a low monthly income of work and other incomes have an effect to a long term staying of young adults with their parents. The young adults have to carry the burden of a social uncertainty and on the other side a partly chosen life style linked to numerous privileges of living at home. |
