Abstract

V magistrski nalogi sem predstavil delovanje policijske misije Evropske unije na palestinskih ozemljih (EUPOL COPPS) in opisal njen vpliv na varnost v tej regiji ter obenem ocenil pomen sodelovanja slovenske policije v tej policijski misiji za Republiko Slovenijo in slovensko policijo. Kot slovenski policist sem 18 mesecev opravljal naloge svetovalca palestinski policiji v policijski misiji Evropske unije EUPOL COPPS (angl. Coordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support) na Zahodnem bregu. Policijska misija EUPOL COPPS je del skupne varnostne in obrambne politike EU, njen cilj pa je prispevati k stabilnosti v tej regiji. Ta policijska misija spada med misije za izgradnjo institucij in zmogljivosti ter kot taka spada med najbolj zahtevne in kompleksne. Magistrska naloga podaja odgovore na postavljene hipoteze in tako seznanja ožjo in širšo javnost o delu policijske misije EUPOL COPPS, o njenem pomenu za regijo, v kateri se nahaja, in o pomenu sodelovanja za RS in njeno policijo.

Secondary abstract: The thesis presents the activities of European Union Police Mission in the Palestinian Territories (EUPOL COPPS), and describes its impact on security in the region and at the same time evaluate the importance of participation of Slovenian police in this police mission for the Republic of Slovenia and its Police. As a Slovenian police officer I spent 18 months as an adviser to the Palestinian police in the European Union police mission EUPOL COPPS (Coordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support) in the West Bank. Police mission EUPOL COPPS is part of EU common security and defense policy and its aim is to contribute to stability in the region. This police mission is mission for building the institutions and capacities, and as such, is among the most demanding and complex. Master's thesis provides answers to the above questions, and brings knowledge to narrower and broader public about the work of the police mission EUPOL COPPS, of its importance for the region in which it is located and about importance of our participation for the RS and the Police.
