Abstract
Diplomsko delo z naslovom Medijska reprezentacija človeške ribice in njena vloga pri oblikovanju turistične podobe Postojnske jame obravnava vplive medijskega poročanja na primeru človeške ribice na eno najpomembnejših slovenskih turističnih atrakcij – Postojnsko jamo. V delu sta predstavljena turistična atrakcija in naravna znamenitost Postojnska jama ter proteus, slovenski fenomen, ki se je leta 2016 znašel v novicah najrazličnejših medijev po svetu. Opisani so načini, na katere se interdisciplinarno področje turizma prepleta z mediji, pri čemer gre za svojevrsten diskurz. Empirični del s pomočjo diskurzivne analize ter analize vsebine raziskuje, na kakšen način so svetovni in domači mediji poročali o človeški ribici in njenem naraščaju. V končni fazi dela je vključeno razmišljanje predsednika uprave Postojnske jame Marjana Batagelja, ki je svoj pogled na fenomen predstavil skozi metodo polstrukturiranega intervjuja.

This thesis with the title Media Representation of the Olm and its Role in Creating of the Tourist Image of the Postojna Cave focuses on the example of the Olm to research the impacts of media coverage on one of Slovenia`s most important tourist attracions – Postojna Cave. The tourist attraction and natural sight Postojna Cave is described in the work, along with its inhabitant the Proteus, slovenian phenomenon, which appeared in various media news all over the world in 2016. The study also describes manners in which the interdisciplinary field of tourism intertwines with the media and creates its own discourse along the way. The empirical part explores different ways in which slovenian and world media reported about the olm and its offspring with the help of discourse and content analysis. The final part of the study includes opinions of the President of the Managenment Board of Postojna Cave Marjan Batagelj, who reflected his thoughts on the phenomenon in an in-depth semi-structured interview. |
