diplomsko delo
Abstract

International Law Aspects of War in Bosnia-Herzegowina and Dayton Peace Agreement |
Secondary abstract: |
Thesis contains aspects of international law that were directly related to armed conflict on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first half of 90's of the 20th century. Scope of breaching international law dealing with armed conflict which is primarily governed by Geneva Convention is a clear indication how bloody this war was. In this case United Nations and its protection forces have not done their work. First thing that comes to mind is fall of the protection zone in Srebrenica where crime of genocide was committed. Numbers of peaceful negotiations have not been successfull, but when USA started participating actively, that resulted in new round of negotiations with method of intervention of the american administration in Dayton, USA. Following this, on 21 November 1995, the Dayton Peace Agreement was concluded and eventually stopped three and a half years long war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this thesis, apart from already mentioned, I am presenting this historical document, his features as well as shortcomings, consequences and its impact on the habit in Bosnia and Herzegovina in these two decenies of the post-war period. |
