Abstract

Raziskavo smo izvedli meseca avgusta 2017. S pomočjo računalniškega programa Microsoft Office Word 2013 in Microsoft Office Excel 2013 smo rezultate ankete obdelali in prikazali.

Secondary title: Factors influencing the decision to study nursing
Secondary abstract: Lack of nurses is becoming global problem, so it is necessary to understand factors that influence an individual to decide for this profession. Reasons why someone decides for a particular profession were began to explore by theorists only at the end of 18th century. In the dissertation, we focused on exploring the influence of factors on the decision to study nursing. We used descriptive method of work for making of theoretical part of a dissertation. In the framework of the empirical part, we used a quantitative research methodology. We carried out research, with the help of questionnaire consisting of 11 questions at one of the faculties of health sciences in Slovenia. 90 students participated. The survey was conducted in August 2017. The results of the survey were processed and displayed using the Microsoft Office Word 2013 and Microsoft Office Excel 2013 software. Based on the analysis of the acquired data, we have found that internal factors, such as the ability to help others and work with people, are the most important factors influencing the decision to choose nursing studies. According to the assessment of the importance, they are followed by external factors with the possibility of career development, then employment stability and with it the possibility of employment abroad. The factors that the respondents considered as the least influential are the influence of others on the choice of study choices.
