Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali nezgode z verižnim učinkom, ki se pojavljajo razmeroma redko, vendar imajo velike posledice, saj se vplivi širijo s primarne procesne enote na objekte v bližini. Povzročijo lahko trajne posledice na ljudeh, premoženju, rastlinah in v okolju. Do širjenja vpliva na druge enote lahko pride zaradi premajhne razdalje med rezervoarji, zaradi pomanjkljivih varnostnih ukrepov, ki se izvajajo z uporabo strojne in programske opreme ter zaradi pomanjkljivih človeških aktivnosti. Zakonodaja omenja nevarnost verižnega učinka in predvideva aktivnosti za ocenjevanje, nadzor in preprečevanje verižnega učinka, vendar ne podaja napotkov, kako to izvesti. Tudi v času izobraževanja študentje ne dobijo informacij o verižnih učinkih, zato inženirji v podjetjih nimajo navodil, kako analizirati možnost verižnega učinka in načrtovati ukrepe za njegovo zmanjšanje oz. preprečevanje in s tem povečanje varnosti. Zaradi tega smo v diplomski nalogi razvili poenostavljeno metodologijo, katere glavni cilj je zmanjševanje nevarnosti verižnih učinkov. Z navedenimi koraki in podrobnejšim opisom posameznih ukrepov bi bila takšna metodologija lahko v pomoč inženirjem v praksi.

Secondary title: Measures to reduce the hazards of domino effects
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, we made a research on mishaps of domino effects which occur rarely, however, when they do occur they have massive consequences due to the dispersal of effects from a primary processing unit to the nearby facilities. They can cause permanent damage to humans, animals, property, plants and on an environment. The dispersal of the effect of domino reactions can happen because of the too small distance between the tanks, lack of safety measures which are carried out by hardware and software, and another cause can be a lack of human activity. Even though the legislation mentions the danger of domino effect and also anticipates activities for assessment, control, and prevention of chain effect, it does not give us direct instructions on how to execute it. Even the students when they are at college do not get enough or any information on chain effect. This is why the engineers in companies have no instructions how to analyze the probability of domino effect and how to plan security measures, which prevent damage and increase safety. This is the reason why we wanted to write our thesis. We developed a simplified methodology, and its main goal is to minimize all dangers that come along with chain effect. The methodology with its stated steps and elaborate description could help the engineers in practice.
