Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of a handball game with a player less
Secondary abstract: The aim of the final thesis was to carry out the analysis of the game when attacking with a player less. I analysed 20 matches of the common part of European handball club Champions League in the season 2016/17 (EHF Champions League). We compared the winning teams, defeated teams and the teams that played tie to find out about the differences in the number of occurrences of certain gaming performance parameters when playing with a player less. The data that we used in the analysis were obtained by using video recordings of the games and the official statistics which are published on the website of EHF Champions League. In the research, we included 26 variables and we recorded their occurrence frequency. The teams were divided in three groups according to the final score, namely the winning teams, defeated teams and the teams that played tie. After that, we defined 26 zero hypotheses and processed them by using the statistical software package SPSS. We calculated the basic statistical values of all the chosen parameters and continued with the test statistics to find out about the differences between the chosen groups. The test of one-way analysis variance – ANOVA, the Brown-Forsythe test and the Dunnett's T3 Post Host test were used during the research. The results have shown that except for one parameter, there are no statistically typical differences between the winning teams, defeated teams and the teams that played tie. After calculating the occurrences of playing activities with a player less at the matches discussed, we have confirmed 25 zero hypotheses and accepted an alternative hypothesis claiming that the statistically typical differences in the number of flanks exist when playing with a player less. The acquired data of the explored matches/games when playing with a player less show that the differences between the chosen parameters actually exist but they are relatively small and untypical.
