Abstract

Ustrezno označevanje in strokovno prevajanje deklaracij živilskih izdelkov je temeljni tržni standard in velja za vse trgovce in proizvajalce na območju Evropske unije. Podprto je z nacionalnimi zakoni in evropskimi direktivami, s tem pa je obvezujoče za vse trgovce mednarodnega blaga. Označevanje živilskih izdelkov omogoči potrošniku izdelek, ki je varen za uživanje, saj vsebuje pomembne podatke, kot je navedba alergenov in drugih snovi, pomembnih za človekovo zdravje. Globalni mednarodni trg omogoča dostop do živilskih izdelkov iz vsega sveta, zato so prevodi le-teh izjemno pomembni. V empirični raziskavi smo se ukvarjali s prevodno analizo slovenskih prevodov nemških deklaracij. Raziskovalni korpus zajema 30 živilskih izdelkov, ki so imeli izvirne označbe v nemškem jeziku in prevode deklaracij v slovenskem jeziku. Ugotovili smo, da so označbe prevedene pomanjkljivo, še posebej v primerih, ko prevajalec ni prevedel vseh zakonsko določenih podatkov. Prav tako dva izdelka nista imela prevedenih deklaracij na embalaži. Ugotovili smo tudi, da je v nekaterih primerih prišlo do sprememb pri navedbi sestavin, kot je spremenjen vrstni red, sprememba sestavin ali celo dodajanje neobstoječe sestavine. V magistrsko nalogo smo vključili tudi anketo, s katero smo želeli ugotoviti, ali se potrošnikom zdijo označbe na živilskih izdelkih pomembne. Z anketo smo zajeli 100 slučajnih izprašancev in ugotovili, da je 80 % oseb mnenja, da so označbe oziroma živilske deklaracije pomembne, še posebej ženskam (89 %). Kot glavni razlog pomembnosti živilskih deklaracij so anketiranci navedli predvsem skrb za zdravje in željo po tem, da vedo, kaj vnašajo v telo.

Secondary title: ǂThe ǂtranslation analysis of Slovenian product labels on German food goods
Secondary abstract: Proper food labelling and professional label translations are fundamental marketing standards and apply to all traders and producers within the European Union. They are supported by national laws and European directives and thus binding for all traders in international goods. Food labelling ensures that a consumer has access to a product safe for ingestion since it contains all relevant information, such as a listing of allergens and other substances that are important for human health. The global international market gives access to food products from all around the world, making their translations extremely important. For the empirical research, Slovenian translations on German food products were analyzed. The research corpus included 30 food products with labels originally in German and their translations in Slovenian. The results showed the labels are not being adequately translated, especially in cases where a translator does not translate all legally required information. Two of the products came without any label translation on the packaging. It has also been shown that in some cases, changes had been made to listings of ingredients, such as changed order, changed ingredients and even addition of a non-existing ingredient. A survey of 100 randomly chosen participants was included in the Thesis to find out whether consumers consider food labels important. It showed that 80 % of respondents, especially women (89 %), believe labels to be important. As their main reasons, the respondents listed taking care of their health and wanting to know what they are putting in their bodies.
