Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo se ukvarjali s smrtjo kot travmatično izkušnjo, s katero se srečujejo (žal) tudi otroci in mladostniki. Smrt je težka, a neizogibna situacija v življenju, na katero se tako odrasli kot otroci različno odzovemo. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili definicijo smrti in žalovanja, razložili namen žalovanja in pojasnili, zakaj je pomembno, da gre otrok oziroma mladostnik skozi proces žalovanja. Opisali smo, kako se različno stari otroci in mladostniki soočajo s smrtjo ter kako jo razumejo, predstavili smo čustva, ki spremljajo otroka v soočanju s smrtjo. Otrok ob smrti bližnjega potrebuje pomoč bližnjih, njihovo naklonjenost, zaupanje in občutek varnosti, nemalokrat pa je potrebna tudi pomoč izven družinskega kroga. Stiska ob izgubi bližnjega, ki bremeni otroka oziroma mladostnika, lahko vpliva tudi na njegovo šolsko življenje, zato je zelo pomembno, da šola otroku predstavlja varno in ljubeče okolje. Pri tem imata ključno vlogo razrednik in šolska svetovalna služba. Šolski svetovalni delavec lahko otroku oziroma mladostniku, ki žaluje, pomaga posredno in neposredno, v veliko pomoč pa je lahko tudi učenčevemu razredniku in drugim učiteljem, ki delajo s takšnim učencem. Našteli smo nekaj oblik pomoči šolskega svetovalnega delavca učencu, ki žaluje. V empiričnem delu smo raziskovali, ali smrt bližnjega vpliva na otrokovo oziroma mladostnikovo vedenje, čustvovanje, duševno stanje in psihosomatske spremembe, ali smrt in žalovanje vplivata na učenčev učni uspeh, njegovo osredotočenost in razumevanje snovi. Zanimalo nas je, ali se učitelji razredniki počutijo kompetentne za pomoč učencem v procesu žalovanja in kako ocenjujejo uspešnost obravnave učencev v šolski svetovalni službi. Empirični del temelji na iskanju razlik med razumevanjem smrti osnovnošolcev na razredni stopnji in srednješolcev - gimnazijcev, primerjali smo mnenja učiteljev glede na njihovo delovno dobo in smer poučevanja. Za pridobivanje odgovorov smo uporabili anonimni anketni vprašalnik, ki je bil namenjen učiteljem razrednega pouka in gimnazijskim profesorjem. Anketiranje je potekala ob koncu šolskega leta 2016/2017, v njem pa je sodelovalo 160 učiteljev.

In the master's thesis, we dealt with death as a traumatic experience that children and adolescents (unfortunately) also encounter. Death is a difficult, but inevitable situation in life, to which both adults and children react differently. In the theoretical part, we presented the definitions of death and mourning, explained the purpose of mourning, and clarified why it is important that a child or adolescent goes through the mourning process. We described how children and adolescents of different ages deal with death and how they perceive it. We presented emotions that accompany the child when dealing with death. When dealing with the death of a loved one, a child needs the help of loved ones, their affection, trust, and to feel safe. Often they also need help beyond the family circle. Distress caused by the loss of a loved one can also affect the child's or adolescent's school life, therefore it is very important that school is a safe and loving environment for the child. The form teacher and school counselling service play a key role in this. A school counsellor can help a grieving child or adolescent directly and indirectly, and can greatly assist the pupil's form teacher and other teachers who work with such a student. We listed some forms of help school counsellors can provide to a mourning pupil. In the empirical part, we investigated whether the death of a loved one affects the child's or adolescent's behaviour, emotions, mental state, and psychosomatic changes, or whether death and grief affect the student's learning achievements, their focus, and their understanding of the subject matter. We investigated whether form teachers feel competent to help pupils in the mourning process and how they assess the efficiency of school counselling services when dealing with such students. The empirical part is based on finding the differences in the perception of death between pupils in the lower grades of primary school and secondary school students. We compared the opinions of teachers according to their length of service and the subject they teach. We obtained answers using an anonymous questionnaire, which was intended for classroom teachers and secondary school teachers. The surveying took place at the end of the 2016/2017 school year and it included 160 teachers. |
