Abstract

Pridobivanje energije iz fuzije je trenutno eden večjih svetovnih projektov v katerem sodelujejo znanstveniki iz številnih držav. Tehnologija je kompleksna, eden izmed problemov je spremljanje porabe ter proizvodnje goriva, t.j. tritija, za potrebe obratovanja fuzijskega reaktorja. Za spremljanje proizvodnje tritija iz izotopov litija je bila predlagana reakcija zajetja na manganu 55, ki ima podobne aktivacijske lastnosti kot reakcija nastajanja tritija iz litija 6. V reaktorju TRIGA v Ljubljani so bile opravljene meritve aktivacije mangana 55, zlata 197 ter meritve nastajanja tritija v dozimetrih, ki vsebujejo litij. Opravljeni so bili izračuni reakcijskih hitrosti po metodi Monte Carlo. Primerjava med meritvami in izračuni potrjuje primernost mangana za spremljanje proizvodnje tritija.

Secondary abstract: Energy production from fusion reactions is currently one of the largest projects in the world, where scientist from several countries are cooperationg together. The technology is extremely complex and one of the problems is monitoring the fusion fuel burning and production rates. As a monitor for fusion fuel production (i.e. tritium) on the isotopes of lithium, the capture reaction on manganese was recommended, because it has simmilar activation properties as tritium fuel production. Activation rate measurements for the capture reactions on manganese 55 and gold 197, and tritium production measurements using dosimeters containing lithium have been performed at the TRIGA reactor in Ljubljana. The reaction rates have been calculated by the Monte Carlo method. The comparison between the measured and calculated results shows the suitability for manganese as a tritium production monitor.
