Abstract

Diplomsko delo z naslovom Numicon pri matematiki v vrtcu je sestavljena iz teoretičnega, empiričnega in praktičnega dela. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili matematiko v vrtcu, se osredotočili na pomen didaktičnih pripomočkov, jih nekaj opisali ter predstavili načine njihove uporabe. Pregledali smo tudi raziskave in podali dosedanje ugotovitve o uporabi pripomočkov na predšolskem področju. Poseben poudarek pa smo namenili Numiconu. Opisali smo njegove začetke, ga predstavili in poudarili njegovo vlogo pri prenašanju matematičnih vsebin, posebej tistih s področja aritmetike in algebre, na predšolske otroke. Zapisali smo matematične koncepte, ki jih lahko dosegamo z njim v predšolskem obdobju ter predstavili raziskavo o učinkovitosti pripomočka v prvem in drugem razredu osnovne šole. V empiričnem delu smo predstavili raziskavo, ki smo jo izvedli s pomočjo vodenega intervjuja, z vzgojiteljicami iz različnih vrtcev. Namen je bil prikazati pomen in uporabo didaktičnih pripomočkov vzgojiteljicam na področju matematike, večjo pozornost pa smo namenili Numiconu, kjer nas je zanimalo, na kakšen način in zakaj bi ga vzgojiteljice vključile v svoje delo in ali pri tem vidijo kakšne omejitve. Ker je v slovenščini malo gradiva za uporabo Numicona v predšolskem obdobju, smo v praktičnem delu podali nekaj primerov za uporabo tega pripomočka s predšolskimi otroki na področju matematike.

Secondary title: Numicon in kindergarten mathematics
Secondary abstract: The graduation thesis entitled Numicon in Kindergarten Mathematics consists of the theoretical, empirical and practical part. In the theoretical part, we presented kindergarten mathematics with a special focus on didactic tools, we also described some of them and presented their use. We examined relevant research and presented the findings on the use of these tools in the preschool stage. Special emphasis was put on Numicon. We described its beginnings and presented the tool as well as pointed out its role in teaching mathematical content, especially that related to arithmetics and algebra, to preschool children. We listed mathematical concepts, the understanding of which this tool can help us achieve in the preschool stage, and presented the research on the usefulness of the tool in the first and second grade of elementary school. In the empirical part, we presented the research which we conducted by means of a guided interview with preschool teachers from various kindergartens. The aim was to present the importance and use of didactic tools in mathematics that preschool teachers use, while greater attention was paid to the Numicon because we were interested to know how and why preschool teachers would consider including it in their work and if they see any limitations regarding it. Because there is little material in Slovene language concerning the use of Numicon in the preschool stage, we have given a few examples on how to use it with preschool children in the field of mathematics.
