Abstract

The effect of a classifier predicate on the word order in transitive sentences is a well known phenomenon in sign language (SL) linguistics, while Sze (2003) is the only author noticing it in ditransitive sentences. In this study, I examine the word order of transitive and ditransitive sentences with a classifier predicate and provide a part-of-the-speech analysis of this predicate in Slovenian Sign Language (SZJ).
