magistrsko delo

Abstract

Secondary title: Experiencing and expressing bullying among gifted students
Secondary abstract: The topic of the master's thesis is peer violence; our intention was to analyze whether gifted students in primary schools are involved in bullying and how they are involved. We focused on their experiencing (being the victim) as well as expressing bullying (being the bully). With this master's thesis, we wanted to find out to what extent peer-to-bullying is present in gifted students compared to their peers, i.e. normative students. The study involved 200 students attending sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades in different schools. Of the total sample, 23.5 % of students were identified as gifted. In order to obtain information on the inclusion of students in various forms of peer violence, we used the established questionnaire "School Bullying Scales", written by Cheng, Chen, Liu & Chen (2011, summarized after Pecjak, 2014). The results of our study have shown that there are no statistically significant differences between students identified as gifted and normative students in experiencing as well as expressing bullying. Regardless of the talent of the students, various forms of violence and also the roles in which students appear, are more or less equally common.
