diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Varnost in policijsko delo
Abstract

In the diploma paper »Learning organisation – Slovenian Hunting Association« we first summarized the main characteristics of the learning organisation concept, which we gathered by an analysis of books and scientific journals. We wanted to know how it is defined, what does Senge’s model of it look like, and what criteria must certain organization achieve in order to qualify as a learning organisation. Based on that, we tried to check whether the Slovenian Hunting Association is a learning organization or not. For that, in the theoretical part of the diploma we first defined its main tasks, goals and methods of work, in which we were looking for the characteristics of the concept. Since it is one of the largest non-governmental organizations in Slovenia, that operates in various fields, it should function towards continuous learning and updating of knowledge.
Later we examined the opinion of members of the Slovenian Hunting Association about whether it meets the criteria of learning organization. We conducted a survey in which we asked the participants to which extent they agree with certain claims that apply to this kind of organization. We have found that members mostly see SHA as a learning organization with most of its typical elements. We also detected slight, but not significant difference between answers of members of hunting families and members of regional hunting associations. First ones were more aware of the presence of learning organization elements in their organization. But the difference wasn’t obvious enough to claim that opinions among those two groups differ.
The results of our research show that SHA meets most of the criteria of learning organization, so we can label it as such. But we propose further analysis of those elements that were the least perceived by the members as being present, in order to encourage their development. |
