magistrsko delo
Abstract
A kljub čedalje glasnejšemu opozarjanju na enakopravnost vseh ljudi, mnoge arhitektonske ovire še vedno omejujejo možnosti participacije in polne vključenosti teh oseb v družbo. Dostopnost in prilagojenost objektov smo preverili s terenskim sistematičnim opazovanjem ter ocenjevanjem s pomočjo ocenjevalne tabele. Ocenjevali smo štiri elemente dostopnosti objektov, in sicer dostop do samega objekta, vhod v objekt, dostopnost in prilagojenost notranjih prostorov objekta ter dostopnost in prilagojenost sanitarij.

Public facilities accessibility for people with physical disabilities in major towns of the gorenjska region |
Secondary abstract: |
People with physical disabilities represent a very diverse group of people with special needs. Physical disabilities differ according to the type and the degree of impairment. Some individuals are physically impaired to the extent that they need a wheelchair to cover the distance or for any kind of mobility. However, a wheelchair in and of itself does not suffice for their ability to cover the distance, successful integration into society and the fulfilling daily life. Adjustments and accessibility of the built environment, public facilities and other public spaces are of vital importance to people with physical disabilities. However, despite growing calls for equality, many architectural barriers still limit the possibility of their participation and full integration of these individuals into society. In this MA research, the wheelchair accessibility of 123 public facilities in the Gorenjska region was examined. Adjustments and access to facilities were examined by means of systematic field observation and with the help of an evaluation table. Four factors were assessed: access to facilities, entrances to facilities, adjustments and access to indoor spaces, and adjustments and access to sanitary facilities. Six types of public facilities were included in our sample: office buildings, transport and communication facilities, store and service facilities, entertainment venues, educational institutions and health care facilities. The research has shown that, as per arithmetic mean, access to facilities proved to be the best, followed by entrances to facilities, and indoor spaces. Sanitary facilities proved to be the least accessible. Accessibility also varies according to the type of facilities. As per arithmetic mean, store and service facilities together with health care facilities proved to be the most accessible, followed by office buildings, entertainment venues, and educational institutions. Transport and communication facilities proved to be the least accessible. |
