Abstract

Ker nadzorovana obravnava poteka v domačem okolju, pripomore k izboljšanju funkcionalnih sposobnosti in k večji samozavesti obravnavanega bolnika.

Secondary title: Treatment of patients with mental disorder in controlled treatment
Secondary abstract: Nowadays, many people are suffering from a mental disorder and their number continues to grow year after year, because various factors influence the development of a mental disorder. A person with a severe and recurrent mental disorder has the option of receiving supervised treatment, which is carried out pursuant to a court order and supervised by a psychiatric hospital. The treatment is carried out in accordance with the plan for supervised treatment outside a psychiatric hospital, in the person’s home environment. This diploma thesis presents the special features and advantages of such treatment, and the most common mental disorders being treated with supervised treatment. It also highlights the conditions that must be met for treatment, and determines whether there are any drawbacks and weaknesses in the management of a patient within the scope of supervised treatment. A descriptive work method was used in writing the diploma thesis. Data was obtained using existing written sources from domestic and foreign professional literature. It has been established that the mental disorders which are most often treated with supervised treatment are schizophrenia, persistent delusional disorders, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar affective disorder, and recurrent depressive disorder. Since supervised treatment takes place in the home environment, it contributes to improving the patient’s functional abilities and self-confidence. On the other hand, such treatment encroaches upon the patient’s rights regarding voluntary therapy or treatment.
