Abstract

Uvod: Okužbe sečil poleg okužb dihal predstavljajo najpogostejše okužbe pri ljudeh. Pogosteje za okužbami sečil zbolevajo ženske zaradi njihovih anatomskih in fizioloških značilnosti. Metode: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela s sistematičnim pregledom tuje in slovenske strokovne in znanstvene literature. Starost literature smo omejili od leta 2007 do leta 2017. Literaturo smo iskali v podatkovnih bazah CINAHL, MedNar, Cochrane Library in Medline. Razprava in zaključek: Okužbe sečil so znane mnogim ženskam. Ženskam so premalo znani drugi načini zdravljenja in preprečevanja okužb sečil.

Secondary title: Urinary tract infections in women of different ages
Secondary abstract: Introduction: In addition to respiratory infections, urinary tract infections are peoples’ most common infections. More often, women are affected by infections of the periosteum due to their anatomical and physiological characteristics. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to investigate women’s urinary tract infections in different life stages through the literature review. Methods: In the diploma work we used the descriptive method with a systematic review of literature. The age of literature was limited, from 2007 to 2017. We searched for literature in CINAHL, MedNar, Cochrane Library and Medline databases. By searching literature we will also use the Google Scholar web browser. Discussion and conclusion: With young women, the most common cause of urinary tract infection is sexual activity and the use of some contraceptives, especially diaphragms and other spermicides. Often urinary tract infections occur with pregnant women due to numerous anatomical and physiological changes. Urinary tract infections increase with the age of women. With older women, the main cause of the infection of the urinary tract is menopause, which results in a reduced oestrogen level, which results in a higher incidence of infection. Most commonly, urinary tract infections are treated with antibiotics, and there is an increasing risk of the resistance of bacteria to antibiotics. Other methods of treating and preventing urinary tract infections are unknown to women. Untreated urinary tract infections can lead to many complications. Pregnant women may experience premature birth, stillbirth or low birth weight of the child. Urinary tract infections are known to many women. The vast majority have at least one urinary tract infection in their lives. Urinary tract infections by women cause pain, distress and absence from work. Repeated urinary tract infections can be prevented if women are sufficiently educated. In education, a nurse has an important task.
