Abstract

Secondary title: Security analysis of Wi-Fi networks in Maribor
Secondary abstract: As number of wireless WiFi networks rises constantly, the question of connectivity and data security becomes critical. The first part of this thesis presents basic principles of operation, security and some of the threats of connecting to WiFi networks. As a basis for the second part we conducted an on-site scanning of the access points of WiFi networks (wardriving) in the selected area in Maribor. We analyzed the captured data on the basis of which we assessed the security of WiFi networks, taking into account the theoretical background described in the first part. We also carried out visualization of data in the form of access points maps.
