Abstract

Secondary abstract: The paper starts by theoretically defining the radio play, drawing from different media theories. The review of the specialised Slovene literature shows that the literary science rarely deals with texts of radio plays; however, radio plays have been studied theoretically by radio producers. An emphasis is put on radio plays for children, which in the Slovene context developed in parallel with radio plays for adults. The second part of the paper analyses the corpus of 14 radio plays for children from 1975 according to their motifs and themes as well as regarding their ways of combining various sound materials with the literary texts that function as their bases.
