Abstract

Magistrsko delo skuša osvetliti in kontekstualizirati slovaško žensko poezijo zadnjih desetletij.

Secondary abstract: The aim of the master thesis is to enlighten and contextualize Slovak female poetry of the last decades. In the thesis the understanding of the specificity of Slovak cultural space is based on the review of cultural history. Slovak female poets that stand out are represented through analysis and translations of their poetry. Until the 1960s the Slovak poetry scene centred on male poets. The situation began to change in the 1970s, when the feminization of the poetry took place, female poets got involved in the wider literary space and consequently more poetry books written by females were published. The main breakthrough of the female poetry occurred after the year 1989 as a consequence of the political changes. In the contemporary poetry there are no significant influences of poetry schools and movements, therefore the autopoetics is prevalent. With the older poets there is noticeable influence of the tradition, the younger poets are influenced by different sources such as earlier female poets and the poetics of other nations. Slovak female poets are an equal part in Slovak cultural space; they receive the rewards, participate on the festivals, the inclusion of their poetry in the anthologies has also increased.
