Abstract

Magistrsko delo predstavlja fantazijsko sago Malazan Book of the Fallen in analizo arhetipa ponovnega rojstva, ki se pojavlja skozi celotno delo. Krajšemu orisu fiktivnega sveta, sistema magije in osnovne zgodbe sledi teoretični del o arhetipu in mitu.

Secondary abstract: The following master thesis represents the fantasy saga Malazan Book of the Fallen and an analysis of the archetype of rebirth recurring throughout the entire work. The author of the saga Steven Erikson has created the world, in which the story takes place, with co-author Ian C. Esslemont. A brief outline of the fictional world, magic system and basic plot is followed by the theoretical part about the archetype and myth. The core of the work consists of the theoretical framework regarding the archetype of rebirth and an analysis of examples showing the presence of the aforementioned archetype in all forms as proposed by Carl Gustav Jung. At the end, the classic structure of a fantasy work is presented by an example of two characters.
