Abstract

Fluidno inteligentnost smo merili s Standardnimi progresivnimi matricami (Raven, 1998).

Secondary title: SENSOR-MOTORIC MOVEMENT AND FLUID INTELLIGENCE IN ELDERLY ADULTS
Secondary abstract: We wanted to test if sensor-motoric exercise can improve the results of fluid intelligence in elderly adults. We had 36 participants (28 women and 8 men) aged from 65 to 97 years. Exercise took place for eight weeks. We tested our participants before and after the exercise with Standard progressive matrices or RPM (Raven, 1998). In table 11 we have sum of points from RPM for every individual. Average value of RPM from active group before exercise was 20,30 ± 9,76 points. After exercise they achieved an average of 20,30 ± 8,48 points. Average value of RPM from control group before exercise was 17,62 ± 8,78 points (P>0,05). After exercise they achieved an average of 19,92 ± 7,68 points (P>0,05). Analysis of variance for repetitive measures showed that factor of time (F1,21 = 2,0; p > 0,05) and interaction of time x exercise weren't statistically significant (F1,21 = 0,8; p > 0,05). According to research showed in the project it is possible to maintain and even improve fluid intelligence in old age with a combinaction of aerobic and sensor-motoric exercise.
