Abstract

Secondary title: Processing of thin-walled wooden objects
Secondary abstract: The thesis is based on a technological procedure with regard to standard turning of thin-walled products. Nowadays, these processes are relatively established and allow us to create real elements or completed pieces. The production technique of unique rings is presented and analysed based on a specific case. The aim of the thesis was to select the most appropriate wood type and determine the most suitable process with regard to the chosen production technique and the required quality of the finished product. The thesis therefore compares the treatment of six wood types. The comparison confirmed the initial hypothesis on the most suitable types of wood for thin-walled turning. The best wood type for this technique, which can be turned to a thickness of 0.25 mm, was also set out. The analysis allowed us to choose the non-homogeneous materials that can be processed together with a homogeneous material in the finished product. The specific case of making a unique ring combining titanium and cherry wood served as a basis for comparatively analysing the final treatment of the area where both homogeneous and non-homogeneous materials are joined together.
