(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Podatki so obdelani s programom Microsoft Excel.
Diskusija in zaključek: Z raziskavo smo potrdili domneve o manjšem interesu raziskovanja v gerontološki zdravstveni negi. Menimo, da je raziskovanje na področju zdravstvene nege starostnika zelo pomembno zaradi lažjega razumevanja staranja in zagotavljanja višje kakovosti življenja starejše populacije.

Theoretical background: Professional research is crucial, because it contributes to quality of nursing for patients and enables innovation in the nursing field. The purpose of the research was to introduce the meaning of research in gerontological nursing and through analysis of diploma theses determine what students most commonly research in the field of gerontological nursing.
Research methodology: An explorative qualitative or investigative research methodology was used in the research. The sources of information were diploma theses in the field of gerontological nursing/nursing of the elderly in a five-year period (1 January 2012 – 31 December 2016). The research was conducted on one of the medical care faculties in Slovenia in October and November 2017. Data was processed using Microsoft Excel.
Results: The research examined 83 diploma theses from the field of gerontological nursing, which represents 10 % of all diploma theses during the studied five year period. After examination we divided the diploma theses according to their content analysis into three categories: The life of the elderly (35 %), The employees and gerontological nursing (10 %) and Diseases and injuries of the elderly (55 %).
Discussion and conclusion: Our research confirmed the assumptions of a smaller interest of research in gerontological nursing. Our opinion is that research in the field of elderly nursing is extremely important, due to a better understanding of ageing and providing a higher quality of life of the elderly population. |
