Abstract
Zbrane podatke smo statistično obdelali z Mann-Whitneyjevim in Wilcoxonovim preizkusom in hipoteze interpretirali z deskriptivno statistiko spremenljivk.
Ob tem prihaja do nesoglasij zaradi velikih pričakovanj vodij, neustrezne arhitekture domov in pomanjkanja kadra.

Advantages and disadvantages of the congruent nursing model |
Secondary abstract: |
Background: Conventional working methods are mostly used in social care organisations. In Slovenia, education on a congruent nursing care model was first introduced in 2014. The basic idea behind the model is care that favours coherent relationships rather than treating symptoms or focusing on diagnosis.
Purpose: The purpose of the survey was to determine how much the employees of social care organisations know about the model, their attitude towards introducing the congruent nursing care model in the work process, their opinion on implementing the model in these institutions, and whether the observed changes match those determined in the research.
Research methodology and methods: The survey was based on a quantitative and causal non experimental method of research. The data was collected using interviews conducted at two institutions providing social care services and 114 persons participated in the survey. The data collected was statistically processed with Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon test and the hypotheses were interpreted through descriptive statistics of variables.
Results: The results have shown that the cooperation between the employees and the residents has improved in the institution that introduced the model (63,6%). Some of the advantages they experience are staff continuity, improved mutual trust and work organisation, whereas they perceive staff shortage, the fact that they do not know the other residents very well in case of night work, and inadequate architecture design of the buildings as disadvantages. The results have also shown that working environment quality is slightly better in the organisation where the congruent nursing care model is not implemented; however, the differences between the two groups are not significant (p > 0,05).
Discussion and conclusion: The employees describe the congruent nursing care model as good because it allows for a more individual approach to the resident and staff continuity, but also has a positive impact on work organisation. Nevertheless, some disagreements are present due to high expectations of the management, inadequate architecture design of the buildings and staff shortage. |
