Abstract

Terorizem v Evropski uniji predstavlja enega izmed temeljnih varnostnih problemov ter največjo grožnjo človekovim pravicam in svoboščinam, nacionalni in mednarodni varnosti. Evropa se v zadnjih letih ponovno sooča s porastom terorističnih napadov. Priča smo bili napadu v Bruslju, Nici, Barceloni, Manchestru in številnim drugim napadom, ki so povzročili veliko smrtnih žrtev in povzročili vsesplošen strah. Eden odmevnejših v zadnjih letih je bil napad v Parizu novembra leta 2015, saj predstavlja nekakšen začetek novega načina izvajanja napadov Islamske države. Napadi so se zgodili na stadionu Stade de France, v različnih barih in restavracijah v Parizu in koncertni dvorani Bataclan. Napadi so zajemali zajetje talcev, streljanje in samomorilske napade, ki so terjali 130 življenj. Napad je povzročil tudi nekatere spremembe v boju proti terorizmu v okviru EU, kot na primer povečanje nadzora nad zunanjimi mejami, nad financiranjem terorizma ter preprečevanje nezakonite prodaje orožja, hkrati pa si države EU prizadevajo za krepitev sodelovanja na področju izmenjave informacij o terorizmu in teroristih.

Secondary abstract:	Terrorism is one of the fundamental security problems in the European Union and it represents the main threat to human rights and to national and international safety. In recent years, Europe is facing an extensive increase of terrorist attacks. We witnessed the attack in Brussels, Nice, Barcelona, Manchester and several other attacks that resulted in numerous casualties and caused a lot of fear. One of the most significant attacks in the past years was the attack in Paris in November 2015 because it represents the start of the new “modus operandi” of Islamic State. The attacks took place at the Stade de France stadium, in various bars and restaurants in Paris and in the Bataclan concert hall. The attacks included shootings, suicide bombings and hostage taking, that resulted in 130 casualties. The Paris attack initiated plenty of changes regarding the fight against terrorism within the European Union, such as increased security of external borders, financing of terrorism and preventing the illegal sale of firearms, while at the same time trying to increase cooperation between member states regarding the exchange of information.
