Abstract

V magistrskem delu obravnavamo tri področja značilnosti glasbenega talenta: glasbene sposobnosti, glasbeno izvedbo in neglasbene značilnosti.

Secondary title: Musical abilities, musical performance and non-musical characteristics of pupils attending music school
Secondary abstract: This master thesis deals with three characteristics of musical talent: musical ability, musical performance, and non-musical characteristics. Firstly, in the theoretical part of the thesis, the basic theoretical framework with the characteristics of musically talented pupils aged 6-10 is described. Secondly, a more detailed analysis of the three areas of musical talent is presented. The empirical part of the thesis presents a survey that was carried out using a descriptive method and a quantitative approach of collecting the data. The main objective of the study was to analyse the characteristics of musically talented instrumentalists attending music school. The sample comprised 268 teachers who teach at the music schools of the Republic of Slovenia. The music teachers selected a pupil who, according to their opinion, was the most musically talented student among all male and female students aged 6-10, and he or she was evaluated by a questionnaire. The measurement tool of Bojan Kovačič (2016) was used for that purpose. The results of the study showed that the characteristics of musically talented instrumentalists which relate to musical ability, musical performance and non-musical characteristics are above average (in the interval 4 < M < 7). Gender is not statistically relevant to the characteristics of musically talented instrumentalists in the field of musical ability. The difference between female and male pupils was shown in two of the four characteristics of the musical performance (partial confirmation of the hypothesis). However, there are no significant gender differences in the field of the non-musical characteristics of musically talented instrumentalists. Moreover, with higher levels of instrumental music classes in music school or with student's age the characteristics of musically talented instrumentalists statistically do not increase significantly, except in the field of non-musical characteristics.
