Abstract

Secondary title: Stabilization exercises for competition dancers with pilates principles
Secondary abstract: Dance can be as much sport as art, so it is vital, that we begin to perceive dance training as a sport. With the increasing contribution of professional dancers to the development of dance at the competitive level, also the requirements for the physical fitness of professional dancers increased accordingly. The goal of our work is to present the importance of a holistic model for training professional dancers, with the emphasis on improving their physical fitness to further improve their artistic and movement skills. With the appropriate understanding of the complex properties of the dance, we can further improve the dancers, their training process and dance itself. The training program based on stabilization exercises is adapted to the specific needs of dancers, with the goal of strengthening individual joints, body core and general improvement of physical abilities. The inclusion of this kind of program into the regular dance training, shows improvements in body posture, body control during movement and quality of dance performance. The extensive development of movement abilities is complementary to every individual dancer and sportsman.
