Secondary abstract: | This master's thesis presents a new concept for velocity measurements in microfluidics, based on the observation of movement of colloidal particles in the secondary flow in the side chamber, filled with a fluid that does not mix with the sample in the main channel of the microfluidic system. First, theoretical basics and numerical simulation of proposed design are explained. Next, manufacturing of a sensor and the performed measurements are described. They are followed by detailed analysis of particle movement where correlation between the main channel flow velocity and side chamber particle movement is shown. |
