At the School centre Krško-Sevnica we are aware of the negative environmental impact of the electrical and electronic waste and the greenhouse gas emissions as a result of increased electricity consumption. Thus we wanted to reduce the number of computers needed in the upgrading and renovation of the computer classrooms. Due to the simplicity and the positive experience we have decided to upgrade one classroom where there was the existing multiseat workstation-based desktop virtualization and to renew the other with the use of Microsoft MultiPoint Server 2012. With this improvement we have achieved a reduction in the number of computers from the previous twenty-six to only seven computers.
The use of multiseat workstations has proven as a good decision, because it lead not only to reducing costs but also to reducing the negative impact on the environment, while enabling the educational process to be carried out without interruptions, easier maintenance and more reliable operation. |
